I apologize for inviting me to the conversation!

You should first clean your PC from virus, malwares or malicious software! The pop up you're receiving is a fake as no upgrade is already proposed via Windows Update when using Windows 7!

I don't think that's true, the installer is available for download. This only happened after running the installer from here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/
This problem originates from running that program, which originated from microsoft so I'm going to be magnanimous and suggest that it's not malware as such :)
I had hoped that it would give me some options before actually installing anything but it did not, just popped up a window with no buttons and prompted to reboot.
I'd like to backtack but don't know how. At the present I can use windows 7 fine but can't remove the popup.
If anybody has a windows 7 box/VM and can reproduce this scenario, I'd appreciate it.

If you’ve tried to upgrade your Windows stable edition to Windows 10, then you can uninstall the preview updates using Windows Updates. For this to be done, open Windows Updates on your system and look for the already installed updates. You have to find the Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2990214) and uninstall it.

Of course it depends on which OS you are running, x86 or x64!

I was having the same exact problem and you were right there are one of two different Updates It was KB3014460 and not KB2990214 like everyone kept suggesting when searching for help after i decided not to install windows 10 tech preview but it kept poping up a reminder. Really appreciate it.

There are currently three ways to get Backtrack 5 R3 Direct download, Torrent, or it can be Bought.
The files here will need to be unzipped to use. If you dont have a unzipping tool or are using Windows than 7-Zip is a good unzipping program.
